The youth enjoyed the hayrides and had a great time playing softball. We have some really talented ballplayers. The event was a wonderful experience. Thanks to all who participated. We had a great turnout for Children’s Church. Thirteen children attended, and four youth helped with crowd control and with facilitating the service. We will do it again this month on November 12th at the 11:00 am service. Several of our youth along with parents and mentors attended the Funeral Home visit. We toured Parthemore’s and learned about their important work. The Fall Foliage Day at Kirchenwald, the trip to Zion Assembly, and the Confirmation Retreat at Kentland had not occurred at the time of the writing of this piece.
Upcoming in November… November 3rd—Visit to Ohev Sholom (synagogue) We will meet at the church at 6:45pm to carpool to the synagogue. Please sign up on the youth bulletin board, if you plan to attend. (Learning Credit) November 4th—Fall Cleanup Day at Grace Come and help beautify Grace. 8am to Noon. (Service Credit) November 11th—Nut Fry Please help with the Nut Fry. Set up is on Friday. The Nut Fry is Saturday. Sign up on the youth bulletin board. (Service Credit) November 12th—Children’s Church All 4yr olds through 3rd graders are invited to join us for children’s church in the chapel at 11:00am. Confirmands are invited to help facilitate the service. (Service credit) November 12th—Movie Night at Grace, 6:30pm All 6th through 12th graders are welcome to join us for a night at the movies. We will be watching Cast Away, and afterwards talking about the many ways the movie speaks to our faith. Sign up on the youth bulletin board, if you plan to attend. November 13th—Council Meeting, 7pm Confirmands may attend for a learning credit. Please let Pastor Joel know ahead of time, if you want to attend. November 19th—Thanksgiving Food Box Project During confirmation class we will be packing boxes, which we will distribute to families after the 11:00am worship. (Service Credit) November 27th—Board and Committee Night Confirmands may attend for a learning credit. Please let Pastor Joel know ahead of time, if you want to attend. November 29th, December 6th, 13th, and 20th—Young Families Advent Dinners Families are welcome to join us in the fellowship hall for a light meal and short devotional. Please plan to bring some dish to share. We gather at 6:00 pm. Upcoming in December… December 2nd—Nut Fry December 3rd—Coffee Hour by the Youth Did you know??? Martin Luther was born on November 10, 1483. That is 523 years ago this month. Luther was baptized the next day, on November 11th, which was St. Martin’s day, and he was given the name of that saint.
